All About Me
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. Growing up, I was very involved in my community and found a passion for connecting with people. Throughout high school, I excelled in English classes, and through CIVITAS, a four-year interdisciplinary political studies and public service academy program offered exclusively at my high school, I decided that I wanted to refine my skills in communicating. I gained real-world experience as an intern at a physical therapy office and as the CIVITAS Outreach and Recruitment Director, which served as my senior project for the class. Confirming my strengths in writing, communicating, and public speaking, I decided to pursue a degree in public relations.
When applying to colleges, I was looking for a few key qualities. Fair weather, a good college town, a positive student atmosphere, and, most importantly, an academic program that would both challenge and inspire me. When I received my acceptance to the University of Georgia, I was immediately drawn to the concept of moving across the country, pushing my comfort zone, and immersing myself in an unfamiliar culture. When I first toured the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, I knew that UGA would support my ambitions and enable me to flourish.
The past two summers, in 2024 and 2025, I interned at Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), the sixth-largest community-owned electric utility in the nation. I worked with the Community Engagement team, focusing on internal and external outreach, local non-profit relations, fundraising events, and connecting employees with the local community. The first summer allowed me to build a strong understanding of the company and team. Upon my returning summer, I was allowed more responsibility and leadership opportunities; organizing several volunteer events for SMUD teams, representing SMUD at community events, leading fundraiser coordination, and researching ways to improve and strengthen exisiting initiatives.
In my third-year at UGA, I decided to look for a part-time job in Athens, and was hired by Dawg Day Frosé. As an employee at Dawg Day Frosé, a locally owned startup, I represent the brand through direct community engagement, fostering genuine connections with customers while communicating values rooted in authenticity, family, and hard work. Working in a small, fast-paced business environment has strengthened my ability to represent a brand’s voice, adapt to evolving responsibilities, and connect meaningfully with diverse audiences.
I become more excited about my future by the day. I am a third-year student majoring in Public Relations with a Communications Minor, and am on track to obtain certificates in New Media Industries and Public Affairs Communications. Last semester, I decided to officially pursue a Masters in Public Administration, which I plan to complete through the Double-Dawgs Program at UGA. In Spring of 2026, I will began taking graduate-level classes, and when I finish my undergraduate degree in 2027, I will be on track to obtain my masters in a fifth-year post-grad, finishing in the Spring of 2028. As I continue my professional and academic journey, I am constantly looking for opportunities to learn and grow as an individual, as well as exposure to the world of public relations and related fields.
