Projects

In Fall 2024, I took Reporting I, a journalism course focused on developing core reporting skills. One of our major assignments was a Beat Q&A, where we had to identify a source relevant to our assigned beat, conduct an interview, and craft a Q&A-style story based on the conversation. I was assigned to the business and consumer news beat, and I chose to interview Caroline Kersey, a second-year student at the University of Georgia and the entrepreneur behind Caroline’s Cheesestraws, a small business she runs alongside her studies. In Fall 2024, I took a Graphic Communication course where I completed LinkedIn certification training in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. For our final project, we were challenged to take a poorly designed advertisement and redesign it using the skills we learned in Photoshop. For my final project in Web Development in Spring 2025, I completed a speculative redesign of a website I originally built using basic HTML in an earlier assignment. I reimagined and significantly enhanced the concept using WordPress, transforming it into The Dawghouse Directory, a comprehensive guide to my favorite restaurants, dessert spots, study spaces, local activities, and UGA traditions. It also features a beginner-friendly Gameday Guide to help new Dawgs make the most of their Athens experience.

In the Spring of 2025, for my Public Relations Communications class, I spent the semester developing PR content for a local business in Athens, GA. At the end of the semester, I was tasked with refining my projects and creating a professional PR client portfolio that encapsulates my semester’s work.
